Partners of the MSFA

The Maryland Fire Chiefs Association (MFCA) represents volunteer and career Chief Officers throughout Maryland. The MFCA helps members maintain and develop their management and leadership skills, through proactive leadership, education, and advocacy.

The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) of the University of Maryland is the State’s comprehensive training and education system for the emergency services. The Institute plans, researches, develops, and delivers quality programs to enhance the ability of emergency service providers to protect life, the environment, and property.

A memorial, located in Annapolis, dedicated to honoring our fallen fire and rescue service heroes in the state of Maryland.

MIEMSS oversees and coordinates all components of Maryland’s EMS system in accordance with state statute and regulation, including: planning, operations, evaluation, and research. MIEMSS provides leadership and medical direction, conducts and supports EMS educational programs, operates and maintains a statewide communications system, designates trauma and specialty centers, licenses and regulates commercial ambulance services, and participates in EMS-related public education and prevention programs.

MDEM is a national leader in Emergency Management that provides Maryland residents, organizations, and emergency management partners with expert information, programmatic activities, and leadership in the delivery of financial, technical and physical resources.

Through a collaborative effort between the Department of Justice and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), resources and training have helped establish Maryland Local Assistance State Team (LAST) to deploy and provide much-needed assistance to fire departments and a firefighter’s family immediately following a line-of-duty death.

The MSP Aviation Command protects and improves the quality of life through the airborne delivery of emergency medical transportation, law enforcement, search and rescue, homeland security and disaster assessment services to citizens of the State of Maryland and its neighbors 24 hours a day.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is an agency of the Maryland Department of State Police. OSFM is responsible for statewide fire, arson, and explosive investigations, enforcement of the State Fire Prevention Code, coordination of fire prevention efforts, and the collection of fire incident data.

Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) to lead a nationwide effort to honor America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, non-profit Foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and co-workers.

You’re striving to be the best first responder you can be. We’re here for you every step of the way. The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the only organization created solely to support volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and rescue personnel through a wide range of programs and benefits, including training, wellness, protection, and representation. MSFA Members can join for as little as $7.50/year. Explore our website for further details.
