All Officers, Committee Chairs, and Organization Representatives:
President David Lewis has scheduled the next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday, February 18th, 2012 and Sunday, February 19th, 2012 at the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company located at 203 N Church St, Sudlersville, MD 21668 in Queens Anne's County. The meetings will be called to order promptly at 0900 hours each day. There will be a hot breakfast served on Saturday and Sunday morning (for a fee) starting at 0730 hours each day.
For those requiring overnight accommodations, arrangements have been made at the Holiday Inn Express in Chestertown which is located at 150 Scheeler Road, Chestertown, Maryland. Go to Holiday Inn Express website at www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/chestertown/balch/hoteldetail to get directions to hotel from your location. . A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a rate of $90.00 per night and each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 410-778-0778 and mention the Maryland State Firemen's Association to receive your reservation at the special rate. To reach the fire company from the hotel head northeast on Scheeler Road towards Haacke Road and take first right onto Haacke Road. Turn left onto MD 291/Morgnec Road and follow approximately 6 ½ miles and make a right onto MD 290 S/Crumpton Road. Follow MD 290 for about 6 miles and turn left onto MD 300 E/Sudlersville Road, turn left onto N. Church Road and the fire company is on the left. (drive time: estimated 20 to 25 minutes).
A "Welcome Reception" is planned for Friday evening at the Holiday Inn Express in Chestertown from 1600 to 1800 hours, with light food, beverage, and a chance to mingle for all. President Lewis has also arranged a trip for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday; plans have been made for shopping at the Queenstown Outlets and lunch at Doc's Riverside Grille. The van will be leaving from the firehouse at 9:00 am and pick up at the hotel is at 9:30 am. Please RSVP to President Lewis at dlewis@msfa.org. The Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company will be hosting a hospitality event at the fire company on Saturday after the meeting
Please check the attached reporting schedule for the day and order which you have been scheduled to report to the Executive Committee. Please note that the order of reports has been changed from prior meetings so your committee may be reporting at a different time and day from which you are accustomed. If this schedule presents an extreme problem, contact the Executive Committee Chair Wylie Donaldson (wnd281@verizon.net), so that you may be re-scheduled. All Committee Chairs, and all organizations and agencies are reminded that your reports must be sent electronically to the Secretary's office at reports@msfa.org no later than February 13th. You are also requested to have ten (10) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary's Office as soon as possible.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and updated on the various emergency services issues, to better serve the citizens of Our Great State.
