Reminder of Executive Committee Meeting this Weekend
President Jackie Olson has scheduled the next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday, February 22, 2014 and Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Cordova Volunteer Firemen's Association, located at 11864 Kitty Corner Road, Cordova, Maryland 21625. There will be a hot breakfast served, starting at 0730 hours for a fee and the meeting will be called to order promptly at 0900 hours, with lunch being served at noon.
To reach the hotel from the Western Shore, follow US-50 east to Easton and the hotel is located on the westbound side of US-50, just past the Golden Corral. To reach the firehouse from the hotel, proceed west on US-50 for approximately 1 mile and turn right onto Rt. 309, Cordova Road. Follow Cordova Road and you will see the firehouse on the right.
A "Welcome Reception" is planned for Friday evening at the Best Western Plus Hotel between 1800 – 2000 hours. This event is hosted by the Talbot County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association and the Cordova Volunteer Firemen's Association where you will have a chance to mingle with all. President Olson has arranged a trip for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday to a day of gambling at Dover Downs or a day of shopping. Please RSVP to jolson@msfa.org by February 15th for those planning on attending that day.
After the meeting on Saturday, Cordova Volunteer Firemen's Association will be hosting a reception at the firehouse. Sunday, February 23, 2014, a hot breakfast for a fee will start at 0730 hours and the morning meeting will start at 0900 hours. Cordova VFA will also be providing lunch after the morning session around 1100 hours.
Please check the attached reporting schedule for the order which you have been scheduled to report to the Executive Committee. Please note that the order of reports has been changed from prior meetings so your committee may be reporting at a different time from which you are accustomed. Please contact Dennis Skinner at 410-257-3027 if you are unable to attend the meeting so that your report can be read during your agenda time. All Committee Chairs, and all organizations and agencies are reminded that your reports must be sent electronically to the Secretary's office at reports@msfa.org no later than February 12, 2014 and budget request can be submitted to Chairman Stephen Cox at stephen.cox@navy.mil . You are also requested to have ten (10) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary's Office as soon as possible.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and updated on the various emergency services issues, to better serve the citizens of Our Great State.
