All Officers, Committee Chairs, and Organization Representatives:
President David Lewis has scheduled the next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday, April 21st, 2012 at the Midland Fire Company No. 1 located at 14823 Broadway Ave, Midland, MD 21532 in Allegany County. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 0900 hours.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS WILL BE A ONE DAY MEETING. ALL COMMITTEES AND STATE AGENCIES ARE ASKED TO BE PREPARED TO REPORT ON SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST.
For those requiring overnight accommodations, arrangements have been made at the Comfort Inn in LaVale which is located at 1216 National Highway, LaVale, Maryland. Go to Choice Hotel website at www.choicehotels.com/hotel/md145 to get directions to the hotel from your location. . A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a rate of $89.00 per night and each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 301-729-6400 and group code "MSFA" to receive your reservation at the special rate. Reservations must be made prior to March 21, 2012.
A "Welcome Reception" is planned for Friday evening at the Comfort Inn from 1800 to 2000 hours, with light food, beverage, and a chance to mingle for all. President Lewis has also arranged a trip for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday; plans are being made for a shopping trip and lunch in downtown historic Cumberland.
The Midland Fire Company & Ladies Auxiliary will be offering a hot breakfast served on Saturday for a fee starting at 0730 hours. The meeting will recess at about noon for lunch. Meeting attendees are encouraged to remain over in the Frostburg/Cumberland area on Saturday and dinner plans will be offered for those staying over. For those who are staying over, you are encouraged to take the opportunity to visit some of the historic venues in Allegany County as you take an easy ride home on Sunday morning.
Please check the attached reporting schedule for the order which you have been scheduled to report to the Executive Committee. Please note that the order of reports has been changed from prior meetings so your committee may be reporting at a different time from which you are accustomed. If this schedule presents an extreme problem, contact the Executive Committee Chair Wylie Donaldson (wnd281@verizon.net), so that you may be re-scheduled. All Committee Chairs, and all organizations and agencies are reminded that your reports must be sent electronically to the Secretary's office at reports@msfa.org no later than April 11th. You are also requested to have ten (10) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary's Office as soon as possible.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and updated on the various emergency services issues, to better serve the citizens of Our Great State.
