20250222 Reports to the Executive Committee
All Officers, Committee Chairs and Organizations Representatives:
President Carey has scheduled his February Executive Committee Meeting of the Maryland State Firefighters Association for Saturday and Sunday, February 22 & 23, 2025. The meeting will be
at the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 13820 Point Lookout Road, Ridge, MD. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 9:00 a.m. For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at Sleep Inn & Suites, 23428 Three Notch Road, California, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate. Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 301-737-7244. Rooms are $112.00 per night plus tax, using code “Maryland State Fire Association”.
A “Welcome Reception” has been planned for Friday Evening, February 21st at the Hotel between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all.
Refreshments will be served.
Ridge Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary advised that there will be a Hot Breakfast and Hot Lunch on Saturday, February 22 nd for a fee and will provide a Hot Breakfast on Sunday,
February 23rd. President Carey announced for those that are not participating in the meeting on Saturday. February 22 nd , there will be an opportunity to go shopping. Further details will be announced at the Welcome Reception on Friday night.
Attached you will find a copy of the agenda with the order of reporting. Any questions on the agenda will be addressed by Chairman Steger. Each Committee Chair and or Vice Chair should be prepared to give a verbal report to the Executive Committee on the activities of their Committee, as well as any upcoming events. You are also Reminded that All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies must submit their reports electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than February 15, 2025. This gives the Data Systems Committee time to post the reports. A copy of the Agenda for Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time, will be forthcoming. You are also requested to have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and they should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.
As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at budget@msfa.org. Attached you will find a copy of the Budget Request and Amendment Form.
President Carey has announced that the dress code for Sunday, February 23rd will be coat and tie. However, with the harsh winter that we have had, President Carey has requested that the Members of the Executive Committee and the Officers and Committee Chairs of the Association dress in a Hawaiian style shirt.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency
services issues that are being discussed by your association.
