20250823 Reports to the Executive Committee

President Simpson has scheduled his first Executive Committee Meeting of the Maryland State Firefighters Association for Saturday and Sunday, August 23 rd & 24, 2025. The meeting will be at the Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company, Inc., 2030 Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster, MD. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 9:00 a.m.

For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at Best Western Westminster, 451 WMC Drive, Westminster, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate.
Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 410-857-1900. Rooms are $150.00 per night plus tax.

A “Welcome Reception” has been planned for Friday Evening, at the Pleasant Valley Community FC between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle
with all. Refreshments will be served.  Pleasant Valley Community FC Auxiliary advised that there will be a Hot Breakfast and Hot Lunch on Saturday, August 23 rd for a fee and will provide a Continental Breakfast on Sunday, August 24 th.  President Simpson announced for those that are not participating in the meeting on Saturday.  August 23 rd , there will be an opportunity to go shopping. Further details will be announced at the Welcome Reception on Friday night.

Each Committee Chair and or Vice Chair should be prepared to give a verbal report to the Executive Committee on the activities of their Committee, as well as any upcoming events. You
are also Reminded that All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies must submit their reports electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than August 15, 2025.
This gives the Data Systems Committee time to post the reports. A copy of the Agenda for Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time, will be forthcoming. You are also requested to
have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and they should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.

As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at budget@msfa.org. Attached you will find a copy of the Budget Request and Amendment Form.
A copy of the Agenda will be forthcoming. President Simpson has announced that the dress code for Sunday, August 23 rd will be business casual and for Sunday, August 24 th will be coat and tie.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency
services issues that are being discussed by your association.
