2019/12/08 REPORTS TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
MARYLAND STATE FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION
Representing the Volunteer Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services Personnel
All Officers, Committee Chairs and Organizations Representatives:
President Michael Faust has scheduled his next meeting of the Executive Committee of the Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday, December 7, 2019 and Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company, 203 North Church Street, Sudlersville, MD. MD. The meeting will be called to order at 10:30 a.m.
For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at the Quality Suites, 160 Scheeler Road, Chestertown, MD. The cutoff date for the reduced rate was November 8, 2019. However if someone still needs a room, they can call Quality Suites at 410-810-0555 or Holiday Inn Express at 410-778-0778 to make reservations. There will be no reduced rate.
A “Welcome Reception” is planned for Friday Evening, December 6, 2019 at the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company, 307 Market Street, Chestertown, MD from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all. This has been changed from the first notification dated 11-13-2019
For those planning to dine out on Friday, December 6 and or Saturday December 7, President Faust is working with a couple of restaurants in the area. A list will be provided at a later date.
A Hot Breakfast will be offered by the Sudlersville Auxiliary on Saturday and Sunday morning starting at 0830 hours, prior to the start of the meeting. Sudlersville Auxiliary will also be serving lunch on both days for a charge.
President Faust has indicated that between the 9:00 a.m. and 0:15 a.m. there will be an opportunity for all committees to meet with their respective partners.
President Faust announced for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday, December 7th, there will be an opportunity to go shopping at the Chrisitiana Mall in Delaware. Further details will be announced at the Welcome Reception on Friday night.
President Faust and President Denbow will be holding their Christmas/Holiday Party on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Crumpton Volunteer Fire Department, 300 Third Street, Crumpton, MD between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All are welcomed to come by and celebrate the season with all. Crumpton VFD will be providing hot hors d’oeuvres and drinks, with assistance from the Crumpton Auxiliary in serving. President Faust and President Denbow has requested that a donation if possible be made to Casey Cares. See attached letter.
Remember - All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies are reminded that your reports must be sent electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than November 30th. You are also requested to have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.
As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at budget@msfa.org.
Attached you will find a copy of the Agenda for December 7th and 8th .
President Faust has announced that all gentlemen attending the Sunday, December 8th meeting, should be dressed appropriately with Sport Coat and tie. Also do not forget the Black Eye Susan Pin.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and updated on the various emergency services issues, to better serve the citizens of Our Great State.
