2023-08-26_Reports to the Executive Committee

All Officers, Committee Chairs and Organizations Representatives:

President Eric Smothers has scheduled his First Executive Committee Meeting of the Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, 2023. The meeting will be at the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 12027 South Street, Libertytown, MD.
The meeting will be called to order promptly at 9:00 a.m..

For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at Fairfield Inn and Suites, 5220 Westview Drive, Frederick, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate. Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call
301-631-2000 Rooms are $124.00 per night plus tax, using code Maryland State Firemen’s Association. Last day to book a room is July 28, 2023.
A “Welcome Reception” has been planned for Friday Evening, at Urbana Volunteer Fire Department, 3602 Urbana Pike, Frederick between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all.

President Smothers announced for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday, August 26 th, there will be an opportunity to go shopping. Further details will be announced at the Welcome
Reception on Friday night.  Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department personnel advised that there will be a Hot Breakfast and Hot Lunch on Saturday, August 26th for a fee and will provide a Continental Breakfast on Sunday, August 27 th with a light lunch.

President Smothers has announced that the dress code for Sunday, February 12 th will be coat and ie.  Each Committee Chair and or Vice Chair should be prepared to give a verbal report to the
Executive Committee on the activities of their Committee, as well as any upcoming events. You are also Reminded that All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies must submit their
reports electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than August 19 th , 2023.  This gives the Data Systems Committee time to post the reports. A copy of the Agenda for
Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time, will be forthcoming. You are also requested to have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and
they should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.

As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at budget@msfa.org. Attached you will find a copy of the Budget Request and Amendment Form Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency
services issues that are being discussed by your association.
