2022-12-03_Reports to the Executive Committee

President Benjamin Kurtz has scheduled his December Executive Committee Meeting of the
Maryland State Firemen's Association for Saturday and Sunday, December 3 rd and 4th, 2022. The
meeting will be at the Showell Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., 11620 Worcester Highway,
Showell, MD. The meeting will be called to order promptly at 9:00 a.m..

For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at Courtyard Ocean City
Oceanfront, by Marriott, MD. A block of rooms is being held for MSFA at a reduced rate. Each
individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. For reservations, call 410-289-5008.
Rooms are $129.00 for Oceanfront or $109.00 for a Standard room per night plus tax, using code
MSFA Executive Committee Meeting.

A “Welcome Reception” has been planned for Friday Evening, December 2 nd between 6:00 p.m.
and 8:00 p.m. at Ocean City VFD Station 5, 10124 Keyser Point Road, (West) Ocean City, MD.

Come by and enjoy yourself and have a chance to mingle with all.

President Kurtz announced for those not participating in the meeting on Saturday, December 3 rd ,
there will be an opportunity to go shopping. Further details will be announced at the Welcome
Reception on Friday night.

Showell Volunteer Fire Department personnel advised that there will be a Hot Breakfast and
Lunch on Saturday, December 3 rd for a fee and will provide a Continental Breakfast on Sunday,
December 4 th with a light lunch.  President Kurtz has announced that the dress code for Sunday, December 4, 2022 will be coat and tie.

Each Committee Chair and or Vice Chair should be prepared to give a verbal report to the
Executive Committee on the activities of their Committee, as well as any upcoming events. You
are also Reminded that All Committee Chairs, Organizations and Agencies must submit their
reports electronically to the Secretary’s Office at report@msfa.org no later than November 26,
2022. This gives the Data Systems Committee time to post the reports. A copy of the Agenda for
Committees and EMSOF Partners reporting time, will be forthcoming. You are also requested to
have fifteen (15) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and
they should be turned into the Secretary’s Office as soon as possible.

As in the past, any budget request must be submitted to Chairman Stephan Cox at
budget@msfa.org. Attached you will find a copy of the Budget Request and Amendment Form
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so
that you can be better informed and you can update your members on the various emergency
services issues that are being discussed by your association.
