The Commission workgroup, consisting of fire service volunteer and career representatives along with other state agencies, met monthly with liaisons from the MD Dept of Labor and MACO to identify issues regarding recruitment and retention across the state. There are recommendations listed in the report that MACO will be presenting this year during legislation. This report, now in the hands of the General Assembly, is presented to address needs within the Maryland fire service. Included in the report are the results from the survey that was conducted during the summer.
