MSFA President Doyle Cox will hold his first MSFA Executive Committee Meeting on August 28th & 29th, 2010 at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department.
For those desiring to stay overnight, arrangements have been made at the Country Inn & Suites in Lexington Park which is located at 44941 Worth Lane, California, Maryland. To reach the Inn using MD 2/4, follow Route 2/4 to Solomons, cross over the Governor Johnson Bridge into St. Mary's County to the intersection of Route 4 and Route 235 in California, Maryland. Proceed through the intersection (on green light) on Route 4/St. Andrews Church Road and go to the first traffic signal (FDR Blvd), make a left and then left at the first crossover and the Inn is the second entrance on the left. If you are traveling from Western Maryland, DC or counties in that area, take Route 301 South to Route 5 South. Route 5 turns into Route 235 in Mechanicsville at the WaWa, proceed south on Route 235 for appox.10 miles to reach the Hollywood firehouse which is located on the south side. To reach the Inn, proceed past the firehouse approx. 5 miles to MD Route 4/St. Andrews Chruch Road and turn right at signal. Go to first traffic light (FDR Blvd) and make a left then left at the first crossover, the Inn is the second entrance on the left. The cost for the motel is $89.00 per night. Each individual is responsible for making their own arrangements. The number for reservations is 301-737-5227 and be sure to mention the Maryland State Firemen's Association to receive your reservation and the special rate. There are still rooms available but make your reservations soon.
Please check the attached reporting schedule for the day and order which you have been scheduled to report to the Executive Committee. If this schedule presents an extreme problem, contact the Executive Committee Chair, so that you may be re-scheduled. All Committee Chairs, and all organizations and agencies are reminded that your reports must be sent electronically to the Secretary Jackie Olson at reports@msfa.org no later than August 22nd. You are requested to have ten (10) copies of your report prepared for distribution prior to your reporting time and should be turned into the Secretary's Office as soon as possible.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in these meetings of the Executive Committee so that you can be better informed and updated on the various emergency services issues, to better serve the citizens of Our Great State.
